(NewsUSA) - We take X-rays for granted, but they were unknown until German physicist Wilhelm Roentgen discovered them 130 years ago. Today, they’re associated with detecting problems with bones, teeth, and more, but one of their most important uses is curing common skin cancer.
More than 9,000 Americans each day are diagnosed with nonmelanoma skin cancer and, traditionally, they would be facing Mohs surgery to cure their disease. However, many cases are now successfully treated without surgery, thanks to research-backed, highly effective, noninvasive radiation therapies such as Image-Guided SRT, SRT, and Electronic Brachytherapy.
(NewsUSA) - Diabetes remains a growing health crisis in the United States, but many people living with diabetes are confused as to which foods should be part of their meal plan, according to the American Diabetes Association (ADA). For example, many people believe that those with diabetes or prediabetes should avoid potatoes, but in fact potatoes are highly nutritious and can be part of any healthy diet.
(NewsUSA) - The ScanEase OneSense device is a screening tool for diagnosing breast cancer. The device facilitates an examination that is accessible to patients of any age and body type, allowing for self-examination due to its user-friendly design in the privacy of their home. The results help assess the risk of new tissue formations in the breast. The higher the risk factor on the BI-RADS scale, the greater the likelihood of malignant tissue degeneration. In light of this, the OneSense scanning device is recommended for the primary diagnosis of breast tumors in outpatient settings and for at-home self-examinations.
(NewsUSA) - As we age, maintaining physical fitness and the ability to move our body easily becomes more important to our overall well-being. However, an often-overlooked condition known as sarcopenia can gradually lower individuals’ muscle mass and strength without obvious warning.

(NewsUSA) - If you are among the 1 in 5 Americans who serves as a caregiver to a spouse, parent, child, older adult, or someone with chronic health conditions, disabilities, or special needs, you may have taken on the role with little or no training or outside assistance.

(NewsUSA) - Want an easy way to add fresh vegetables and herbs to your diet? Indoor hydroponic grower systems are a great way to eat more healthfully. The advanced technology in today’s systems makes it simple and satisfying to grow a garden at home even if you don’t have a green thumb—you don’t even need a yard.
(Cole's) - It’s an age-old question -- to feed or not to feed birds in fall and winter. Some people believe that feeding wild birds can cause more harm than good, like preventing timely migrations, or causing birds to depend on feeders rather than foraging food. The truth is these are myths and feeding birds is beneficial to their well-being. Birds migrate regardless of seed in feeders. It’s estimated that wild birds only get 25 percent of food from feeders, the rest is naturally sourced, so full feeders don’t keep birds from migrating.
(NewsUSA) - The laundry industry would have you believe that in order to get brilliant, clean laundry, you need to use powders, liquids and pods that are diluted with water, and come in bulky, single-use plastic containers. However, according to the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), plastic waste is en route to overtake fossil fuels as the leading environmental pollution by 2030.
According to The Ellen MacArthur Foundation, there will be more plastic than fish in the oceans by 2050, making this the best time to consider a more sustainable laundry routine.
Special features of modern electric mowers include variable speeds that allow users to adjust to different conditions on the ground. That means no need for extra effort when going uphill. In addition, electric mowers can be set for slower speeds to maneuver around flower beds, trees, or lawn furniture.
Many top companies, including DR Power Equipment, Ryobi, Greenworks, and Craftsman and Kobalt, among others, offer a range of styles and models for battery-powered, self-propelled, walk-behind lawn mowers that feature the unique and efficient variable-speed electric transmission designed by General Transmissions.
Fortunately, companies like 7-Eleven are leading the way in offering innovative solutions aimed to help consumers mitigate the negative environmental effects of car travel, giving them a chance to make a difference.
Through a program called RENEW, 7-Eleven calculates tailpipe carbon emissions and offsets those emissions through local and global carbon reduction projects, including reforestation and tree plantings.
Compare that hectic routine to those memorable moments when you're able to sit quietly, let the sunshine warm your face, hear the birds, and allow nature to envelope you. While everyone longs for less stress, actually relaxing can be dauntingly stressful!
However, a new study out of the United Kingdom sheds light on one way people can de-stress: bird watching. The study finds that people who watch birds from their home have lower depression, anxiety, and stress compared to those that live in less leafy areas that have fewer birds. People "felt relaxed and connected to nature when they watched birds in their garden," researchers say. These feelings increased with the level of bird feeding in the yard, they add.
